Motivation Monday: Cheers to 30 Years

dsc_2206It’s going to be tough to keep this short and sweet because this past weekend was spectacular…and to give it the credit it deserves will be tough to wrap up in a few paragraphs (but I will try to keep it simple!).

Since Mondays are all about spirit on MSF and feeding that spirit with motivation, inspiration and drive for overall wellness, I thought this past weekend I spent celebrating turning 30 with some of my favorite humans is very fitting.

There is nothing more fulfilling than being around those that build you up, create a positive atmosphere and love you unconditionally. I don’t think there was a moment this weekend where anyone in the house felt judged, out of place or uncomfortable.

dsc_2201dsc_2203When you have friends and family that do this for you, hold on to them and don’t take it for granted. If you aren’t in a place in your life where you feel you need support, or don’t have a particular part of you that needs uplifting or encouragement, S P R E A D the L O V E and see how it always comes back around.

dsc_2215With that said, I love celebrating. I am very much into a theme or a chance to be festive (as we all know) and I get as much pleasure celebrating others as I do when it is about me. Seeing others come together for a happy purpose, smiling, laughing, spreading joy-there’s nothing like it.

Speaking of celebrating, let’s dive into this past weekend recap.

So we took a couple’s trip up to Santa Barbara for a few days to celebrate me turning 30. Honestly, the trip felt like it was as much for everyone else as it was for my milestone. Of course I felt the love and my friends and family went out of their way to make me feel special, but the whole trip felt connected and I loved everything about it (including the disaster of a storm that made it even more memorable). I think we all needed a little getaway and this fit the bill perfectly.

dsc_2249We had a chef cook for us one night, which was a highlight for me because food is such a large part of my life. I love everything about it, the taste, preparation, how it is a communal and universal way we show love and appreciation. Having my friends there to share this experience was very special to me and something I will remember always.

dsc_2251There was also some wine tasting, dance parties, countless games and loads of laughter. I don’t think we stopped smiling. The girls were treated to a spa day at the historic Bacara (which is the most luxurious setting for a day of complete R&R), while the boys entertained themselves with brewery tours and taco tasting.

dsc_2270All the festive décor, endless bottles of rose and bubbly, even the pink champagne birthday cake (which was criminally good and not in any way simply fit) added to the overall feel of being young, wild, and free (our theme of the trip). I could not have asked for a more perfect setting to celebrate life, friends/family and entering a new decade. I appreciate all I have and can only hope there is a time for everyone just like this. Finding joy in all life’s milestones is what it’s all about!

dsc_2265dividerThank you for coming along with me as I close the chapter on my 20’s and embark on a new one ahead. Cheers to weekends that make us feel just like this!

(a very happy & thankful)
