Mushrooms are having a moment in the health and wellness industry. No longer are they categorized as just fancy infused oils, pizza toppings or for psychedelic trips, they are impacting wellness in a major way.
Mushrooms are a good source of B vitamins, which help provide energy in the body by breaking down proteins, fats, and carbs. Aside from vitamins, mushrooms are also high in important minerals including selenium (which works as an antioxidant) and potassium (which helps control blood pressure & support our muscles and organs).
Below I’ve outlined some common forms being utilized today:
Benefits: made from wildly harvested chaga, the mushrooms blended with pure coffee combats common side affects from caffeine meaning no more jitters or crashes and supports the adrenals.
Benefits: reishi mushrooms are made into tea which studies have shown positively affect the body in many ways including fighting inflammation, liver disease, heart disease, anxiety/depression, diabetes, viruses, digestive problems and much more.
Benefits: there are multiple varieties to get in powder form but the cordyceps is the one I will highlight on here. Cordyceps mushroom powder supports oxygenation of the body, improves mental power, athletic endurance, immunity and sex drive.
You can start finding mushroom products throughout natural food stores. I recently picked up Health-ade’s (not sponsored, just love) new reishi flavor kombucha and it was so yummy! The chocolate disguised any earthiness and it was enough to satisfy my chocolate craving in the afternoon and give me an energy boost to get through the remainder of my day.
Would you try mushrooms in your next smoothie or morning coffee? Would love to hear your opinions on the subject!
Have a wonderful rest of your hump day everyone, we are a few days away from the weekend and a sleep away from a new day! Get after it and do something that intimidates you tomorrow 😉
