Motivation Monday: Memorial Day

Today in the US we observe Memorial Day. Unless you are in a military family or have some other tie to the armed forces it can be difficult to get a glimpse into just how much sacrifice is made for us everyday. Because of this sacrifice we are able to enjoy days like today where we have the freedom to choose what we would like to do and feel safe doing it.

DSC_2661Not everywhere in the world is like this and it can be easy to forget sometimes just how great we have it. We live in a country where there is little asked of us for what we receive in return. The selfless commitment the men and women make while serving our country to keep us protected (not only our rights but our lives as a whole) can never truly be repaid.

However, we can offer gratitude by supporting organizations that help our armed forces and benefit the families and soldiers that do so much for us on a daily basis.

DSC_2662I am going to spend today with a heart filled with gratitude, relishing every minute I get to spend with my friends and family, representing the freedom this country stands for and being ever so thankful to call this home.

I hope you find some time to reflect today on all that you have being an American citizen and maybe what you can do to show your appreciation, even if it is just being grateful to those who choose to protect and serve.

dividerWith the utmost respect and admiration for the men, women and family who serve our country, I will be forever grateful to you for your sacrifice.

Have a wonderful week everyone, I would love to see what you’re up to on this beautiful Memorial Day, comment below or tag me on Instagram @mysimplyfit.

Love,

Megan
